Amongst the three Skandas, Horā is related to predictions of events to come in the life of human beings, and is of prime importance. Only an astrologer, who has mastered all the three Skandas, has the right to be called " Triskanda Jyotishi ". ![]() Jyotish comprises of three Skandas (pillars), namely, Siddhānta, Samhitā, and Horā (Phalita). In order to understand the importance of bhāva in Jyotish, we shall begin by looking at the basis of Jyotish. Therefore I thought it fit, to go beyond mere analysis and look at the importance accorded to bhāva in prediction and the deeper meaning behind the word " bhāva " used by the ancient sages, before proceeding to various parameters used in analysis of bhāvas. ![]() ![]() No analysis of bhāva is possible without understanding the interdependence of planets, bhāvas and rāshis.
